Updated Guidelines

Post by Admin » 11 Oct 2008 08:41

A few guidelines to make the forums a pleasant place to post :

1. Do not post OFF TOPIC
2. Do not post personal messages which are not suitable for public consumption (use pms)
3. Discuss, do not argue.
4. No Spamming – do not make repeated posts saying the same thing and do not post lots of new topics per day.
5. Do NOT post something seemingly innocuous but which is actually bound to hook someone to reply in a heated manner – NO trolling
6. Anyone "having a go" at another member of the forum, moderator or admin will have their access to the forums denied without reference to themselves. Think about the impact of your post. No personal abuse - we are all here for support.
7. If you are quoting something from elsewhere please remember to give the proper attribution so that there will be no breach of copyright. If you post a link to a picture could you also say where it comes from. Please do not use images that you do not have permission to use and do not 'hot-link' to any image used on another web-site or blog - only post a link to the page on the other site that holds the image.
8. Posting private messages in a public forum without the consent of the author is breach of copyright as well as being a breach of etiqette. Anyone doing so will have their posts removed.
9. Please post in proper English - no text message abbreviations
10. No hi-jacking other peoples threads.
11. Members not posting for 28 days risk their accounts being made dormant by the system.
12. Please note that if an admin has reason to mail you about one of your posts, you will be expected to reply or risk deactivation by not doing so.
13. These forums are private. Anyone outside wishing to communicate with members should do so by mailing bcpals@googlemail.com
14. Members deserve their privacy. Do not pass on information you learn on the forums without first consulting the person you are talking about. Break this one and you could be out.
15. Members can only have one account, anyone attempting to open another account in an underhand manner will have all their accounts terminated

Please bear in mind this is a discussion and support site. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of any information although usually our members will comment if they feel anything is potentially misleading.

Hot-linking - Do not link to images that are not your own on other sites
